Season Ender – 2026
Black (and Blue) Monday – Blue 9, White 4
After an absolute glorious taking of the field of battle, White seemed to be clicking and jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Everything was going White’s way until the 40-minute mark, when a controversial non-goal call for Blue (crossbar) turned the momentum. Blue found their footing and the wheels fell off the White bus. Blue proceeded to score nine unanswered goals to take the opening Season Ender game 9-4.
Game MVPs:
• Tom Arnot – Blue
• Derek March – White
Turn around Tuesday – White 9, Blue 0
After a fiery pre-game speech, Team White took to the ice, facing what seemed an impossible task. The plan was, with three games remaining, to chip away at the five-goal lead, hopefully finding themselves within a couple by Friday’s final. Seems the Hockey Gods had other ideas. White executed their game plan flawlessly and at game’s end had posted a 9-0 drubbing. Honourable mention to goalie Colin Barlow, who posted the donut and was snubbed by Blue’s MVP committee. A genuine travesty of the game.
Game MVPs:
• Jason Manning – Blue
• Chris Doyle – White
It’s a Wash Wednesday – White 4, Blue 4
After back-to-back shocking results for each team, this game was considerably more conservative and well-balanced. More than 30 minutes in the game remained scoreless. A tie, just like kissing your sister. White maintained their 4 lead going into the Friday final.
Game MVPs:
• Paul Perry – Blue
• Trevor Figueri – White
Final Friday – White 6, Blue 4
Team White again executed their game plan. Being conservative to ensure they protected the four-goal lead. They battled back and forth, Holding a two and then a three and then a two-goal lead. In the end Coach Keaney finally came out victorious with an overall 6 goal lead.
Game MVPs:
• Mike O’Toole – Blue
• Jeff Black – White
Post-game cup presentation and celebration at Kelsey’s were spectacular, with pit stops at Mogules and The Alporn before the Cup eventually made its way home in an Uber. Detour to Wendy’s was forgone.
